Chapter Eleven | Autology
I sat there, stunned, like an idiot.
I just stared at him, not knowing how to react.
He was magnificent… if I wasn’t just told he was my father, I’d be attracted to him. I mean… I was attracted to him, but not so much in a sexual way. I saw so much of myself in him. We had the same long, narrow nose and thin lips. The same dark brown hair and thick eyebrows.
“Hi Damon…”, Poseidon broke the silence, but not so much the awkward tension. He had a deep commanding voice, the kind you’d expect a “sea god” to have.
“… hey …”, I replied nervously and began to stand up. I didn’t know what to call him in the moment. Saying his name would feel weird, and calling him ‘dad’ would’ve been too forward.
I stepped out of the assembly and onto the warm marble floor. I only took a couple steps closer before stopping to admire the man who apparently helped create me. I could make out some of the various ‘tattoos’ he had on his arm, and leg. They were all dark with a blue tint, and a mixture of geometric and organic lines and shapes.
As I stood there I noticed him taking me in as well. He started to smile from what I assumed was a sense of pride. I liked his smile, it was just like mine. It felt familiar and inviting.
He slowly started taking steps toward me, until eventually we were face-to-face about two feet apart. I had to crane my neck a little to look up into his eyes. His smile grew even more as he stared.
“You have your mother’s eyes…”, he said softly.
“Yea? … my grandma always said that….
Looks like I take after you…”
“Heh, you do… you really do.
I’m so proud to finally meet you, son.”, he admitted with an unwavering smile.
His use of the word ‘son’ struck me. I wasn’t expecting such a lack of formality so quickly. It filled me to the brim with varying emotions. I hadn’t been called son since I was around thirteen, before Mike has changed for the worse. I also felt a slight sting… a suppressed resentment toward his absence.
“… you too.”, I agreed.
“… I’m sorry… for not being there for you. Well… I was, but… not enough, not in the right way.”, he stammered as he apologized.
“Oh… it’s…. uh- it’s ok. You were…?”, I replied with a confused stare. Obviously I had never met the guy until just now.
“Of course, you’re my son. I kept a close eye on you throughout the years to make sure you were safe. I- I wish things hadn’t gone so poorly…”, he trailed off.
“Yea… it’s ok…”, I mumbled with teary eyes as I turned away.
He responded by placing one of his large hands on my neck and briefly stroked my cheek with his thumb. It was strangely intimate, but also comforting. Without saying a word, he indicated his regret and pain. I could feel the affection he had for my mother in his touch. He gently pressed his thumb into my cheek to turn my gaze back to him.
“No… it’s not.”, he insisted. His sapphire eyes were clearly filled with pain at this point. “I witnessed all the horrible shit that scum of a foster father put you kids through. If I were a weaker man he’d have taken his last breath the moment he struck you.”
I smiled.
It was involuntary. I had never experienced what’s been called ‘parental instinct’. To hear this man in front of me defend me as his own flesh and blood, as his offspring, filled me with an unfamiliar sensation.
“… you saw that?”, I asked, still slightly grinning.
“I did… nearly punched a hole in my ship out of blind rage.”, he replied while clenching his empty fist.
I chuckled quietly.
Poseidon smiled and withdrew his hand from my face. The sudden exposure felt cool.
“You wanna sit down? Maybe chat a little.”, He asked, gesturing toward the assembly.
“Sure”, I replied without hesitating. I had so many questions for him.
I sat down next to Apollo, and Poseidon sat opposite him. I was once again seated between two gods. I could feel Apollo’s warmth radiating from behind as I turned to face my father. I didn’t notice it before, but he had a particular smell. It was like the smell of wind by the ocean, salty, but with a pleasant flower-like undertone. The scent was strangely familiar though I never spent much time near the sea. I felt myself becoming more relaxed.
We sat in silence for a moment as Hermes situated himself in a lower tier. He took it upon himself to lay back and sprawl out. In spite of the emotional situation I still couldn’t help but look down and admire his form. His large flaccid cock rested effortlessly against his lower stomach. He caught me looking and winked before resting his eyes.
“So..?”, Poseidon started once we were all settled in. He looked at me expectantly.
“… So.. uh…
Wha- hmm…”, I stammered, trying to think of what to say.
“You’ve got questions I’m sure?”, he guessed.
“Well yea, I just.. don’t know where to start…”, I admitted.
“That’s alright, I can tell you a bit about your mother and I, if you like.”
I shook my head sheepishly. Of course that’s what I wanted to hear.
“Well… I met your mother in Key West… I liked to join in the spring break debauchery at the time. Plenty of frisky young men out having fun and looking for a release.”, he paused and grinned. “It’s gonna sound cheesy, but I found her alone on the beach while I was out for a walk one night. We had both decided to escape the festivities and wander the more secluded beaches. So we chatted a little, and things kinda progressed from there. Ended up spending the rest of the week with her surprisingly… she was really fun”, Poseidon paused for a moment as if he was soaking in a memory. I could tell there was some pain hidden beneath the surface as well.
“Anyway, I didn’t immediately follow her back to Destin where she lived. She gave me her number and we stayed in touch. Eventually though I felt I had to see her again. When I did finally visit, I never left. Not until she died at least…”, he averted his gaze. Once again the pain was visible.
“… I was always told that you left when she found out she was pregnant…”, I confessed.
“Of course not! I loved her, I would never have abandoned her at her most vulnerable. Having a half-titan growing inside you is extremely draining in many ways. There were days where she could barely lift herself out of bed.”
Hearing him refer to me as a half-titan was unsettling. I really wasn’t fully human. I started to ponder the implications before another, more imposing thought entered my mind.
“Why though? Did she want to be pregnant? Did she know…?”
“She knew…”, he once again turned his eyes away in an attempt to hide his pain. “We had been together for two years before we conceived you. I was always honest with her about who I was. She had always wanted to be a mother and had no interest in anyone else being the father of her child. We had hoped that she wouldn’t be one of the unlucky ones.
…
Unfortunately, as you know, she didn’t make it…. I was there. She held you, I held you. She looked like a ghost, but happier than I’ve ever seen her. I’ll never forget her smile…”
I felt an emotional warmth wash over me. I was getting a firsthand retelling of the first time I met my mother. I felt my eyes swelling with moisture and couldn’t help but smile at the thought. Poseidon smiled as well.
“… You could see her you know?”, he asked hesitantly.
Initially I was dumbfounded. How could I? Perhaps he had a photo. As I sat there perplexed though it eventually sunk in.
“The sims…”, I said quietly.
“Yea…”, he affirmed. “I’ve never done it myself. I can’t bring myself to….”
“I never considered the possibility… wow.”, I expressed. I paused and thought about this new information. I definitely wanted to see my mother.
“So… you left me with my grandmother then?”, I asked.
“I did… It wasn’t easy… I was heartbroken in so many ways. She was there at the hospital when everything happened.”
Hermes and Apollo sat in silence hanging on to every word in our exchange. I looked between the two of them. They both wore stoic expressions. Waiting for us to continue.
“… half-titan then? … what does that mean for me?”, the next question I had on my mind. I directed it toward all three men.
“Uhh… “, Hermes responded.
My father cleared his throat.
“It varies… but what is certain is that you age slower, not that it matters here. You’re also naturally stronger than your human counterparts…”
“Hence the reason you recovered much faster than your peers during the attack.”, Apollo interjected. I shook my head knowingly, I had considered this the moment I learned that Poseidon was my father.
“There are… other characteristics that will likely make themselves known over time….
Generally half-titans adopt abilities from their titan parent. Sometimes completely new adaptations manifest themselves.” Poseidon added.
The information he shared only gave me more questions. I assumed the titans were special for sure. Hermes seemed to be able to fly. Apollo was literally glowing before my eyes only an hour ago.
“So… what are your abilities…?”, I asked my father.
“Heh”, he chuckled. Presumably at my immediate curiosity. “Well, I can breathe both air and water, I can completely control it, and extreme pressure doesn’t phase me at all.”
He listed off his somewhat predictable feats. I turned to Apollo expectantly.
“…. ah”, he caught on. “I absorb immense amounts of stellar energy and focus it in various ways. This is how we were able to travel to this universe.”
“The glowing, makes sense I guess”, I lied. Didn’t make much sense at all honestly. I looked at Hermes, he seemed thrilled to share.
“I fly! But you’ve already seen that. I also have a perfect memory.”, he shared excitedly.
“Ah.. No wonder they called you the messenger god… I was curious, how exactly does the flying work..?”, I asked nervously.
“Of all the things you just heard it’s the flying that puzzles you?”, Hermes laughed.
“I mean… none of it makes sense, but yea.”, I admitted.
“Let’s just say we Titans are engineered to be more in tune with the more fundamental properties of reality.”, my father explained. “It’ll make more sense once your link begins to manifest itself.”
“I’m sure it has in some ways already, it’ll be subtle at first.”, Apollo said with an inquisitive expression.
“Being aware of it may also catalyze the process.”, Poseidon added.
I sat in silence for a moment thinking about all this new information. Nothing really prepares you for learning you’re the spawn of a ‘god’ and that you might share some of his godlike abilities. It’s one of those things you fantasize about when you’re bored in class. ‘What if I had superpowers?’ There I was learning that I essentially will, and it was strangely terrifying, yet exciting.
“…I dreamt that I could walk on water…”, I uttered in the midst of my pondering.
Poseidon smiled. There was something heartwarming about it. There was a sense of pride behind it.
“That’s something I do, controlling water is a versatile skill.”, he replied. “Could be just a dream, was it recent?”
“Yea… right after the shuttle was attacked…”, I answered.
The three men around me exchanged looks. Apollo and Hermes turned to my father expecting his assessment.
“Was there anything else in the dream?”, he asked.
“Uh… I heard a stampede?”, I admitted in reply.
Poseidon chuckled quietly.
“Yea… it’s already started. The Greek mythos associate me with horses, I’m guessing you knew that. It’s not entirely true.”
“You were subconsciously aware of your lineage in that moment, I’m sure.”, Apollo announced.
Silence once again as I recalled the details of my ‘dream’. I never considered the association with Poseidon until now.
“… What happens now?”, I asked.
“What do you mean?
Have fun, enjoy life!”, Hermes responded excitedly.
“Your heritage doesn’t come with obligations, and your inherited abilities will appear in time.”, Poseidon added.
“Well, what about the people that attacked us? What if they come back?”, I threw another question at them that had been on my mind.
Their demeanor shifted to something more serious. It was clearly a sensitive subject.
“IF they are somehow able to return, we’ll be able to defend ourselves.”, Apollo assured me. “When we left our universe behind we brought the majority of our family, leaving my grandfather with little resources-”
“Son…”, Poseidon interrupted in a quiet reassuring voice, placing one of his hands on my shoulder. More emotions swirled around my head. It was unfamiliar, but strangely natural. “You’re safe, especially now. It’s as Hermes said, enjoy life. We’ll be here for you.”
For a moment I couldn’t think of anything to say. I sat there with my father’s hand on my shoulder. His assurance succeeded in shaking away any doubt. I felt myself smile uncontrollably. I had a new family here and it was clear they cared.
“… would you like to meet myyy… friends? They’re outside waiting.”, I stammered, it felt like a childish thing to ask, and I almost said boyfriend. I wasn’t quite sure what Derek and I were just yet. It was obvious they noticed my hesitation. Hermes grinned and immediately outed me.
“That handsome boyfriend of yours? Great kisser, nice lips”, he remarked.
I hadn’t thought about that moment since learning about my true paternal family. It hit me that I had kissed my cousin. I wondered if he knew at the time. I was certain he did.
Poseidon glanced down at Hermes and his smug grin. He turned to face me with a puzzled look as if to say ‘Oh?’.
“I would love to meet these friends, of course”, he agreed.
With hardly a millisecond of hesitation, Hermes in his laid back form began floating up off of the ground.
“I’ll bring them in.”, he stated as he repositioned himself to be upright. He quickly darted over my head towards the entrance I walked through before. He was exceedingly fast, out of sight as quickly as I could turn my head.
“So, boyfriend?”, Posiedon asked playfully. Apollo leaned back onto one elbow and rested his head in his hand and waited for an answer.
“Sorta, I think? It’s not official. I don’t know if it will be. We’re just enjoying each other…”, I trailed off nervously. My father smiled knowingly, he’d lived long enough to understand.
Behind us the four silhouetted figures entered the room. They mostly walked in silence taking in the scale of the architecture. I looked back and gave a modest wave. I’m not sure how worried they were but I wanted to reassure them to some degree.
As they got close my father stood up and stepped up onto the marble floor. In spite of myself, I couldn’t help but admire his impressive form. The way his muscles moved was completely mesmerizing. I quickly followed suit, as did Apollo.
Jiho returned a bashful wave in my direction and smiled as they came to a stop in front of us. Apparently my friends were just as smitten by the sea god.
“Hello again.”, Apollo greeted them with his deep soothing voice.
The three responded with “Hi”s of their own and feeble waves. Apollo and Hermes both looked to me expectantly.
“Uh, hey…”, I waved again. “So… this is Poseidon.”, I stated with a loose gesture pointing towards the imposing figure to my right.
You could see their expressions change from something quizzical to understanding. Of the two titans they’ve met at this point, it only made sense that this new figure, with his attire and stature was among them.
“Nice to meet you all”, he said with a smile as he extended a hand.
Trent was the first to step up and return the greeting. Derek and Jiho quickly followed. Their expressions slowly shifted back to something more questioning and it was clear they didn’t quite understand why I’m here.
I wasn’t sure how else to share what I had just learned so I just blurted it out.
“He’s my father.”
Their eyes widened immediately. Jiho’s jaw dropped. Derek quickly brought a hand up to his mouth to conceal the most bewildered smile. His and Trent’s eyes darted back and forth between the two of us.
“No way”, Derek whispered through his hand. He didn’t say anything else, but I had a feeling I knew what he was thinking.
“So you’re like… a demigod?”, Jiho asked after a moment with a smile of his own at this point.
I could feel the three titans smiling to themselves. I’m not sure how they feel about being called gods, but I imagine they don’t hate it.
“We’re not actually gods,”, Hermes corrected him. “But yea, he’s half-titan for sure.”
I shrugged and grinned. Posiedon put an arm around me again then made eye contact with me and gave a questioning look. He quickly waved a finger back and forth between my three friends. I felt my face burning with embarrassment. He was not-so-subtly asking which one was the ‘boyfriend’.
Without thinking I looked straight at Derek, who quickly picked up on the silent exchange of information. Derek went slightly red but maintained his cocky grin. I couldn’t help but notice his dick twitch a little as well. I’m sure his mind was swarming with mischievous thoughts.
“Well then, we hate to keep you boys any longer. I’m sure you’re eager to return to your new homes!”, Poseidon insisted. I was pretty excited to see where we live, but I’ve only just now been reunited with him, it felt strange to just leave. I gave him a look that I’m sure told him as much.
“I can join you if you like, I didn’t want to impose myself on the christening of the new place”, he stated while grinning impishly.
I felt myself getting warm with embarrassment at his implication. I half smiled and shrugged. Not knowing what to say in response.
“How about I swing by in a couple hours? Help you two get ready for tonight’s festivities.”, he suggested.
“I’d like that”, I agreed while looking at Derek to see how he felt about it. He nodded his head eagerly, wearing an expression that said ‘why not?’.
“Alright”, Poseidon said as he removed his arm from my shoulder. “I’ll let you know when I’m on my way then.”
“Okay”, I replied.
There was a bit of an awkward pause as we weren’t sure how to proceed, until Hermes spoke up.
“I went ahead and summoned transport for you four whenever you’re ready to head out. They’re just outside.”
I looked at my father as if asking for permission to leave. I didn’t exactly want to but I wasn’t sure what else to do at that moment. He responded by pulling me into him for our first hug. I wasn’t expecting it, but I completely welcomed it. I buried my face in his chest and wrapped my arms around him. I may not have seen this man since I was a newborn, but I felt right at home.
It’s a little embarrassing to admit but being only eighteen at the time, I was easily aroused. My father’s cock pressed against my lower stomach caused a bit of a stir within me. The moment wasn’t entirely sexual, but it was certainly intimate. My own cock started to stiffen in response. If I weren’t so caught up in my emotions I likely would have pulled away with a full on erection. Regardless, the increase in size did not go unnoticed. Thankfully everyone was kind enough not to make a remark.
I purposefully avoided glancing down at anyone else’s members as I moved over toward Derek. I was surprised when he reached down and grabbed my hand.
“See you boys soon”, Poseidon grinned.
“See you toniiiiight”, Hermes teased with a wink. Apollo merely smiled and waved us on as we started to turn away.
“Thanks”, I said to both Apollo and Hermes, I was extremely grateful for everything they’d done so far. “See you soon”, I turned to my dad.
“Bye!”, Jiho chimed in as the rest waved.
We made our way across the cavernous room. I couldn’t help but look back a few times. Hermes was getting comfortable in the assembly. Apollo had turned to face my father but his gaze was always on me. I felt strangely comforted by his attention.
Outside there were indeed two of those glass orbs that we had taken before. Their doors were already open and waiting for passengers.
We agreed to meet at our place later that night and head out to the party together.
We split off and boarded our crafts. Athenus was of course there to help us set the destination and just like that, we were zooming toward our new home.
